Amalgam Filling Controversy

The subject of amalgam fillings is a controversial one in the field of dentistry. Many people do not know that amalgam fillings (called silver fillings by dentists who still use them and mercury fillings by those who don't) are more than 40% mercury by weight. Some very recent research indicates that small amounts of mercury vapor are released into the mouth during chewing, but that same research has not yet determined whether or not that vapor is harmful.

Dr. Hadgis stopped placing mercury fillings nearly twenty years ago. In keeping with his holistic approach to your oral and whole body health, he only offers white fillings (also called composite fillings).

If you choose to have your mercury fillings removed and replaced with white fillings, Dr. Hadgis follows a protocol designed to minimize your exposure to mercury.
