What is "TMJ"?
"TMJ" is an informal way of referring to disorders of the temporomandibular joints, which join your upper and lower jaws. You may also see the terms TMD, TMJ syndrome or TMJ dysfunction. Estimates of the incidence of TMJ in the population vary widely, but there is general agreement that TMJ disorders are under diagnosed.
